"I don't simply guide travellers through Sri Lanka, I help them understand the stories that shaped it."

Sri Lanka is a country where every mountain, forest, village, temple, and coastline tells a story. My passion is helping travellers discover those stories through meaningful experiences rather than simply visiting places.

My name is Lakvijitha Lenaduwe, a licensed Chauffeur Tourist Guide Lecturer, wildlife photographer, entrepreneur, and thematic narrative interpreter. For more than two decades, I have dedicated my professional life to learning, teaching, and interpreting the connections between nature, history, culture, archaeology, religion, wildlife, and the lives of local communities.

Rather than presenting facts alone, I believe that every journey should answer a deeper question:"Why does this place matter?"

That philosophy has become the foundation of my guiding style, which I call Thematic Narrative Interpretation—transforming destinations into unforgettable stories.

My Journey

My professional journey began in the photographic industry.

My professional journey began in the photographic industry. After completing my education at St. Thomas' College, Gurutalawa, I joined Photo Chrome (Pvt) Ltd., one of Sri Lanka's leading professional colour photographic laboratories, where I worked as Production Manager.

Driven by entrepreneurship and innovation, I later founded my own professional colour laboratory, Fine Chrome (Pvt) Ltd., serving as its Managing Director.

The business grew successfully and was recognised nationally, earning me several prestigious awards including

⦿ Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year (Provincial Bronze Award – Sabaragamuwa Province)

⦿ Best Entrepreneur for Peace Award presented by the Kalutara District Chamber of Commerce & Industry

⦿ Recognition by the National Productivity Secretariat for promoting productivity within Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).

Those years taught me leadership, quality management, customer service, innovation, and the importance of building trust—values that continue to shape my work today.

Giving Back

"Success has greater meaning when it benefits others."

I was privileged to volunteer as a Business Mentor under the International Labour Organization (ILO) Youth Employment Programme, helping young entrepreneurs in the Sabaragamuwa Province develop sustainable businesses and leadership skills.

Sharing knowledge has always been one of my greatest passions.

Today, I continue that commitment by mentoring fellow tourist guides and publishing educational articles that promote professional guiding standards across Sri Lanka

International Recognition

Recipient of the Audley Travel Global Guide Awards 2025 – Certificate of Excellence.

Wildlife Photographer

Using photography to inspire conservation and tell meaningful stories from across Sri Lanka.

My Guiding Philosophy

I don't simply explain what visitors see, I explain why they see it through thematic narrative interpretation.

From Entrepreneur to Storyteller

My professional journey began in the photographic industry.

Although my career began in business, my lifelong love for wildlife, photography, history, and culture eventually led me into tourism.

To strengthen my professional knowledge, I pursued formal studies in:

⦿ Eco-tourism

⦿ Wildlife Interpretation

⦿ Nature Interpretation

⦿ Sustainable Tourism

I successfully completed the Advanced Certificate Course in Eco-tourism, Wildlife and Nature Interpretation offered by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in collaboration with Eco Team Sri Lanka.

I also qualified as a Licensed Chauffeur Tourist Guide Lecturer through the Sri Lanka Institute of Tourism & Hotel Management (SLITHM).

These qualifications strengthened my belief that great guiding is not about memorising facts—it is about helping people see deeper meanings

International Recognition

In 2025, I had the honour of receiving the Audley Travel Global Guide Awards – Certificate of Excellence, recognising my commitment to delivering exceptional travel experiences to international visitors.

This recognition reflects the values I strive to uphold on every journey:

⦿ Authenticity
⦿ Curiosity
⦿ Professionalism
⦿ Respect for culture
⦿ Respect for nature
⦿ Lifelong learning

Wildlife Photographer

Wildlife Photographer

Photography has always been one of my greatest passions.

Through wildlife photography I have learned patience, observation, ethical field practices, and an appreciation for the delicate relationships within nature.

Many of the photographs featured throughout this website were taken during my travels across Sri Lanka and are intended not merely as beautiful images, but as visual stories that inspire conservation and curiosity.

My Guiding Philosophy

Most tours tell visitors what they are seeing.

I prefer to explain why they are seeing it.

Every destination is interpreted through carefully developed themes that connect multiple layers of knowledge.

A single ancient tree may lead to discussions about ecology, Buddhism, colonial history, village traditions, climate, biodiversity, and conservation.

A ruined city becomes a story about civilisation.

A wetland becomes a story about life.

A village becomes a story about people.

This approach—Thematic Narrative Interpretation—helps travellers leave Sri Lanka with understanding rather than simply photographs

Travel With Stories

Travel With Lak | Travel With Stories

Whether we are watching a leopard in Wilpattu, climbing Sigiriya at sunrise, walking through the tea country, exploring ancient kingdoms, or sharing a meal in a village home, my goal is always the same:

To help you experience Sri Lanka through its stories.

Because I believe the best journeys are not measured by the number of places visited—They are measured by the stories that remain with us long after we return home.
